The Queen Mothers’ Platform - Ghana joins the United Nations in commemorating the fourth International Day of Education under the theme "Changing Course, Transforming Education’’.

Education is a human right, a public good, and a public responsibility. This year's celebration will serve as a spotlight for the most important changes that must be promoted in order to realize everyone's fundamental right to education and build a more sustainable, inclusive, and peaceful future.

Ghana will be able to achieve its ongoing Education Reform Agenda for improved learning outcomes, enhanced accountability and equity and contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4) if all citizens have access to comprehensive and equitable education and lifelong opportunities.

On this day, the Queen Mothers’ Platform - Ghana calls on the government to find more ways to strengthen education as a public agenda and common good, to steer digital transformation, support teachers, and include topics in the educational curriculum that will help safeguard the planet and unlock the potential in every person to contribute to collective well-being and our shared home. The government cannot eliminate poverty overnight, but it can offer opportunities to lessen its impacts, and one of the most powerful tools is education.
