QMP calls for investing in children on Universal Children’s Day

The Queen Mother’s Platform-Ghana is committed to giving every child a better future. Children have the right to the best health care available, clean drinking water, nutritious food, and a clean and safe environment in which to grow up.

We hope that this year's theme, "Investing in Our Future Means Investing in Our Children," would help to motivate government leaders, parents, and guardians to refocus resources on ensuring a better and brighter future for all Ghanaian children, particularly the disadvantaged.

No child should be treated unfairly for any reason. Discrimination against children, regardless of who they are or what they believe, should be prohibited. Adults should consider how their decisions will affect children when making decisions. Governments must ensure that those in charge of children's care are doing a good job.

On this day, the QMP calls on governments and adults around the world to do everything possible to ensure that every child has access to an education.
